- Marriage means you're committing to work on an imperfect relationship every day, learning and growing with the same person, hopefully for the rest of your life. You really want to be with someone who is equally committed to all of those things.
- Follow your gut. It almost always knows what's up.
- Ignore your heart. Your heart is a drunk baby.
- Learn to listen more than you talk.
- Figure out how to say "no." Exhaustion and busyness aren't signs of how successful you are. Choose a few things that resonate with you and matter deeply, and focus on them. Don't fill up the rest of your time with meaningless commitments-- make space for play, rest, and quiet.
- You only get one body. Appreciate it, learn to listen to it, care for it, love it to pieces.
